PAUL HUDSON 8/26/1944 - 4/24/2019 The VUMC family lost a beloved member this week when Paul went to rest in the arms of Jesus. His smile and ready laugh will be greatly missed. Our hearts & prayers are with his devoted wife, Jean. There will be a memorial service for Paul Hudson on Saturday, 5/4, 11:00am, here at VUMC. All attendees are invited to join Jean for a meal immediately after the service, prepared by her friends here at VUMC.

Several very faithful donors were surprised when their iron level proved too low to donate this time. The Verdigris Community Blood Drive is tomorrow, Wednesday, 4/3! Walk-ins are welcome, but for priority be sure to call or go on line for an appointment. All donors receive a home-cooked meal from VUMC, an OBI T-shirt, and an entry into OBI's April drawing for a storm shelter!

Today's "Love In" was a blast from the past! Great food, great music, loads of laughter, awesome costume contest (won by "Sonny" Larry Gannan!), & smiles on every face! Thank you to all who helped make this a very special day. We were so blessed to have the children from Verdigris Children's Connection join the children from Verdigris United Methodist Church in our Christmas Contata! The lovely solo is sung by Ava Garnecky (David Garnecky). Well done, Ava! To all the singers, young and old, the program was beautiful and inspiring! Thank you all!
It was a fun day at our annual "Thanksmas" potluck dinner... Dr. Seuss costume contest, great food (including Green Eggs & Ham!), lots of love and laughter! New members David & Diana Adair chose an unforgettable day to join VUMC. Welcome to the family!
There will be a Memorial Service this coming Saturday at 11:00am for C.J. (Clara) Bertolino here at VUMC. Please join us as we pay tribute to our dear friend.

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our dear friend C.J. (Clara) Bertolino, who passed away yesterday at St. John Hospital. Her friendship, ready smile and quick wit will be greatly missed. She loved her Lord and always sought to serve Him. She is at peace and with her beloved Bert.
For the life we live today and the freedoms we have...I thank the soldiers!!

As we enter into this fourth week of Eastertide, let us not forget the message and the power of the Resurrection too soon. As a reminder and refresher, here is the video I showed during worship on Easter Sunday. Jesus came to save. And one of the most important ways Jesus saves us in the here and now is through deliverance and healing us out of our brokenness. That message cannot be shared and heard too often. You matter. Your life matters. God loves you. And we are a church who cares. Verdigris United Methodist Church, a church who tries to live out what it means to be a church of "Open Hearts. Open Minds. This is the video from my Palm Sunday sermon today "Small Steps Forward." Through God's grace, though we are broken, we are beautiful, for God makes everything beautiful in its time. Broken, yet beautiful, transformed by God's amazing grace. Be here on Good Friday at 6:30pm as we take a final look at our brokenness through the lens of the crucifixion.
